Green Smoothie
Green Smoothie is wonderful and nutritious for the mornings and you can make it from ingredients you keep in your freezer.
Serves 1
Ingredients:
1/2 apple
1 banana
A handful of spinach or kale
1/2 cup of Almond Milk
Method:
Peel the banana.
Rinse the kale/spinach and apple. Peel the apple if you prefer.
Core apple and cut into chunks.
Cut the banana also into chunks.
Add all the ingredients to the blender with the almond milk and mix till you reach a smooth consistency that you like.
Additional Notes:
I find this sweet enough as it is but if you require it to be sweeter then add a bit of honey.
Not a fan of almond milk? Add water or coconut water.
Freezing Notes:
If you want to save some time or incorporate this into your meal planning, then pre-pack your smoothies for the week in individual freezer bags. Prepare them at the weekend and pack and label the ingredients into a freezer bag for each morning of the week. Label if necessary. Simply take the bag out of the freezer and add coconut water from the fridge before blending ready for a terrific morning ahead.
